Great News!
Students now have access to a fantastic online resource- Study Island.
We will be using this program a lot to support instruction in our classroom, but it is also accessible at home. Students can take practice sessions and watch lessons tied right into our state and common core standards! The program is better than ever and we are excited to have a chance to use it. Students should be familiar with how to navigate the site at home. Parents, you will find this a great preparation tool for standardized testing! Click on the picture above to be taken to the site. Holley's Hindsights ;)

Dear Families,
My grandmother told me many times that "hindsight is twenty-twenty".  As I reflect back upon our weeks so far in third grade, my hindsight brings so much into focus.  Our class is filled with loving, vibrant, dedicated, and positive friends each and every day.  During the first quarter and a half this year I have learned more about each child than I ever thought possible.  As with adults, children also have "keep trying days" just as they have "amazing days".  I am so thankful and grateful for the chance to be in school with your child each and every day that I am afforded the opportunity.  It is truly a blessing.

As we continue to move forward, I challenge myself to guide my students and my own family at home using the powerful and humbling mission statement crafted by the students in the beginning of the year.
Mission Statement
We will demonstrate our Lifeskills and the 7 Habits everyday.
We will use the golden rule.
We will be leaders and learners in our school/home.
We will set goals, and we will make the most of learning by having fun!

Would you consider doing the same?  I would love to hear your thoughts, comments, and celebrations as you move forward in this challenge.  I hope you each had a blessed Thanksgiving and spent some much needed time with your loved ones.
All the best,
Jessica Holley
